{Gosh, where have I been?}

In sinus infection hell, that's where.  At least I hope! Here's the scoop, should you choose to read it!

Ok so, I'd been having some pain in my front teeth for a couple weeks, but it was tolerable and not painful to the point where I thought anything was seriously wrong. The weekend before last though, it started escalating to where I couldn't concentrate very well and I had to baby my left side when eating. I started taking some prescription motrin in the morning and before bed for the pain, still hoping it would go away.

err----WRONG---last Tuesday I woke up with the WORST pain in my entire mouth and below my left nostril and somewhat into my cheek, and what's worse, I only had 2 motrins left!! So I hopped online and found out that this can be caused by an extreme sinus infection called Sinusitis and since it hurt in my sinus area too, I decided to go to the doctor. He wrote me a few prescriptions for a decongestant, antibiotics and tylenol with codine. Well, it took a few hours to get the prescription filled and I had run out of Motrin.

By the time I got my prescriptions, I was in such extreme pain that I was hysterically crying and screaming at times! (I know, beautiful huh!) I took the tylenol but the pain only seemed to intensify so at around 8 pm last Tuesday night, I had Patrick take me to the ER for some relief. They gave me a shot of MORPHINE of all things and a prescription for vicodin and told me to see a dentist if the antibiotics don't work. GREAT. I hate the dentist.

So I had Patrick bring the kids and I to my moms so she could take care of them (and me, LOL) while I'm recovering and I was SHOCKED that during the entire hour and a half drive.....the pain didn't stop!!!!! I mean, I was dopey and everything was spinning, but the pain in my teeth was getting worse AGAIN...wth?!

So I took another round of tylenol and it seemed to get a tad better, but still intolerable and by the time I got to my mom's I was almost screaming again! So she gave me some hot tea laced with brandy...or should I say hot brandy laced with tea, and the pain seemed to go a little more. I had to sleep all night with a hot compress on my mouth

  OUCHIE..

Well the next morning, I woke up with my face swollen up like a balloon and it got progressively worse all day, in addition to that, I had continued to take the codine and it was actually making the pain in my teeth WORSE (and we later found out, causing the swelling!)

Well needless to say, my Thanksgiving was not fun :(  The swelling had gone down a tad and the majority of the pain had stopped, but I was still worn out and couldn't move around too much, so I didn't get to eat a lot and I didn't get any pictures :(

I've just been recovering the last few days, and the swelling finally went down enough to go to church on Sunday, Thank God, LOL!

This week I've been a little mopey because my computer is having so many issues, I've barely wanted to touch it, argh...

I've been looking at new ones, but I can't really afford new ones so we'll see what I do...tough it out for now I guess and try not to cry! :(

In other news...isn't this cute!?!

Karsten and I made our Christmas chain today, he was so excited because I let him color a train and attached it to the front so now it's his "Choo Choo Train Christmas Chain"

He's so much fun this year! He's been watching the Polar Express nonstop and is sooooooooo excited for Christmas and Santa!  We're going to go to our local Christmas Fair this friday and Santa's supposed to be there, I'm almost peeing my pants in anticipation, LOL..I hope it lives up to my anticipation!!

My Niece's birthday party using Fiddlette's Fabulous Flea Market kit from Scrapartist, congrats to her for winning the Scrapartist Apprentice Challenge!! And toot for me because she asked me to be on her CT! Whoo hoo!

I have some other big news too, but I'll wait until it comes to fruition before I announce it ;)  But it does involve a new blinkie!!

My goodness, that sounds like a complete and total nightmare. It sounds like you started out bad, and then the codeine created a worse reaction in you. Nothing is worse than that kind of intense pain...and as far as pain goes, pain in the teeth is irrefutably the WORST kind of pain. I'm so sorry for your ordeal! I can relate...similar stories in my past regarding my teeth, though, not sinuses. So glad you are feeling yourself again!

But your layouts are darling! The multi photo lo of Karsten is so adorable! :)

Oh! You poor baby! The sinus infection really sucks! Karsten is really adorable! I love his Christmas Chain. I have been thinking about making one with Hannah, but haven't gotten around to it yet... I'll probably do it the week before Christmas when we don't have to make it too long! :) I LOVE your new layouts! Congrats on another CT!

Oh no! That totally sucks about the sinus infection! Those layouts are darling though and the pic with the garland...I bet you can't wait to scrap that one :)

The same thing happened to me last year. The pain in my entire mouth was unbearable. The dentist said the roots of the upper teeth extend into the sinus cavity and with an extremely severe infection, it can cause pain in the teeth. My teeth hurt now, just thinking about it. I've had many a sinus infection, but that one, with the teeth, was like nothing else! Glad you're feeling better!
